Volunteering at the Mendocino County Library

Please contact the Branch Library for specific volunteer duties and available openings, which vary from branch to branch.

The Mendocino County Library may have potential opportunities for volunteers such as:

Helping with events and programs, including Story Times, Tech Help, Arts & Crafts, the Summer Reading Program, and much more!
Helping staff with special projects
Assisting with the Seed Library
Shelf reading to ensure items are arranged correctly
Shelving returns
Mending damaged materials or processing newly added items
Checking in returned or requested items under supervision of branch library staff

All potential volunteers must complete the application process.

All volunteers must be at least 12 years old. Volunteers ages 12-15 must have parental/legal guardian's permission.

It is highly recommended to contact the Branch Library you are interested in volunteering at before submitting an application.
Please complete the Mendocino County Volunteer Program Application and return to the library. You can visit the library to pick up an application form or print a paper application.
Library staff will assess if volunteers are currently needed. If so, Library staff will review your application and may contact you for an interview.
Each potential volunteer will be required to complete a skills assessment for alphabetical and numerical ordering during the interview.
Library staff will discuss potential volunteer opportunities and scheduling with you.

Submitting an application is not a guarantee that you will become a volunteer at Mendocino County Library. Volunteer service is conditional on available openings and verification of references found on application.
Volunteer application processing times may vary.
